I created this workshop held at Stockport Art Gallery. It was a week before my residency at the gallery took place. It related to the concept for the EYE CANDY FOR THE SOUL where the BFR the Big Friendly Robot was first created using the same theme of re-using old broken toys to create something new with. These fantastic pieces created by a very enthusiastic group of children, parents and grandparents were exhibited alongside BFR in the large gallery show and they fit in perfectly.
They went on to tour with BFR of a few local libraries.
Alot of the pieces bring back memories to children and adults,
causing conversation, sharing memories of childhood but also bringing attention to the ongoing waste of plastics used to make what become useless throwaway items all too often.
