Robot Head Installation Upcycled from Discarded Wood.
These waste wood shapes looked like robot heads.
I prepared the blocks first by painting them grey to give the impression of metal.
I also prepared some geometric shapes out of painted tissues to get them inspired. They then used scissors to make their own shapes. They planned their designs first by drawing around their wooden robot head horizontally or vertically onto graph paper then played around with different combinations to make a robot face. When they were happy with their design they glued the small componants down onto the wood. I then took the designs back to my studio to varnish them.
They were then all installed on an outside wall at the school.
The children were very excited to see their work being made into something that is for permanent display,
it builds their confidence and pride in taking part.
Finished permanent installation created by 6 and 7 year olds.
